Hannah Johnson of Sports Chaplaincy Australia is a frontline chaplain who is grateful to have the word of God available to remind athletes that their value as an athlete has nothing to do with their purpose. “The reason I do it is I see the need for our athletes to be seen as people, not just performers,” she says.

“So if I come alongside them and journey with them – and hopefully do my best to reflect Christ’s love to them – they will come to know that they are more than a performer and that they can go after their dreams but with an understanding of who they actually are in Christ.”
