Bible engagement: publishing & the digital environment
Publishing and distribution
In 2013, Bible Society Australia distributed 207,347 Bibles and New Testaments plus 554,939 Bible portions and tracts. Bibles in languages other than English totalled 11,149.
“In God They Trust?” a historical survey of Australian Prime Ministers by Roy Williams, “The Great Bible Swindle” by CEO Greg Clarke, and “The Bible According to Gen Z” by BSA Youth expert Adrian Blenkinsop marked an active publishing year. In God They Trust? and The Bible According to Gen Z both required two reprints by early 2014. Roy Williams’ book received a lot of secular media coverage and was featured on ABC TV’s Compass programme on two consecutive Sundays in May 2014.
Daily Bible Service
In 2013, Bible Society Australia continued its Daily Bible service, sending over 4,500 email subscribers short Bible verses and reflections every morning. Each month takes a different theme, giving an opportunity to highlight how the Bible remains relevant today.
Website and digital engagement
Bible Society Australia’s website has established itself as a hub of information and news for Australian Christians. Over 725,000 visitors came to our site almost 1 million times to get the latest news about the Bible at work in our world.
